A wet lunch makes us creative

How clouds work!

Wow, what an amazing afternoon! We learnt about clouds and how much water they can hold before it rains. We filled a jar 3/4 with water and then topped it up with shaving cream (to represent clouds). Once we had our clouds ready we put a few drops of blue food colouring into some water then used a dropper to begin to fill our clouds. We were going to try to count how many droppers we needed but in our excitement we completely forgot! The clouds held so much of the blue water and then suddenly drops of rain started to fall. It was really cool and we want to go home and find dad's shaving cream....

We made it rain

We filled a jar with very hot water and placed a plate over the top. We waited a while then put a handful of ice on the top. We watched and watched and pretty soon we began to see the steam turning into condensation and because of the ice it formed rain which ran back into the jar.... what a very cool (and wet) experiment!

A new look

During the holidays there were a lot of changes made to our school. We got some more carpet like stuff around our room. At the end of the term we put all of our furniture in the middle of the room and when we came back we found this! We are all seated in a donut and we love it.... too much noise or no work done however and we will be back at our desks! :-)

Water cycle

We are conducting an experiment to study the water cycle.

We poured the water into a container and covered it with glad wrap and a rubber band. We had to predict what we think might happen.

A lot of us think the water will turn into a gas.
Some of us think the water will evaporate.
Some think there will be less water.
It will bubble at the top.
The water will turn into gas and fly up to the top.
It will turn into steam.
The water will go up if it gets hot.
The water will evaporate and then condensate and fall.

Tonight's the night...

After weeks and weeks of learning lines and songs tonight the Middle School are proud to  present Panapa and the Floating Island. Rom 22 has been lucky enough to have many children in the cast so we are all very excited! Please come along and see all of the hard work that the children and their teachers have done. It is an amazing play with lots of great, catchy songs that will have you humming them for weeks to come.

We love our dads

Today was our annual Father's Day Breakfast and lots of the dads from room 22 came along for a bacon buttie and cup of coffee. We hope they had a great morning and got to see some of the things we do at school. We really appreciate our dad and know that they are often working hard but that they always think of us. We also know that sometimes our Grandad or Step-dad are there for us too and that makes us feel extra special.
Have a great day to all of the male role models in our lives.
We love you <3

Dictionary Challenge

We have been learning how to use a dictionary and Mrs Reid puts us through a challenge each week. We have to find words, write their meanings and page number down. The first team to complete the task correctly gets to have an extra 10 minutes at morning tea so we are becoming VERY competitive. Some of us work really well together in out team and share the tasks. Some of us are still learning how to work together....

Our Inquiry Research

We have started looking at different countries and cultures. Each group has a country that they are doing some research on and they are going to present it in poster form. Today was our first go using the computers to help us answer questions and even printing out some pictures. We will show you our finished results soon.....

We love our white boards

In Maths we are using our new class white boardsto do our Quick Ten on. It is fun to see who can be the quickest to answer and see if we get our answer correct. We have only used them a few times but we are already getting quicker at answering the facts when Mrs Reid calls them out.
